Portable Track |
|---|
To bring our trains to potential customers we are investing in a portable track which can provide rides and demonstrations.

We use PNP Track packs along with our quick connector plates.

So far we have one set of points and track to make an end siding

Barry from Compass House testing one of his dock shunters on our track at Merstham show. We did not do any public running due to the lack of flat ground

Portable Track
WE DO NOT HIRE OUT THE RAILWAY - we run to promote the company and fund raise for our chosen charity "St Francis Hospice".
Track needs to be laid on a reasonably level surface. In door halls or corridors are preferred although tarmac or concrete paths/playgrounds/car parks may be acceptable if not subjected to sharp change in levels. ie slopes down to drains etc. WE CANNOT PUBLIC RUN ON GRASS.
Track requires a clear width of 2 metres. If running in a corridor, public needs to be excluded from the track. All fencing to be provided by others. Track must not cross escape routes such as fire doors.
Start/station area requires at least 4 chairs for parents. Area also required for 4 poster boards which dispay pictures of our garden railway and products.
We need the car near the proposed site and access for the trailer (1200mm wide) to part of the running track.
We currently have 60m of straight track, 1 corner of 10' radius and 1 set of points. Hopefully this will grow over the coming years.
