JANUARY

For some reason the year started with coach sales. |
![]() |
With such a large order I set too making a few jigs to help contruction. One was for a roof former which now allows us to create pre curved plywood roofs. |

Done as a bit of a trial we had a go at a
Pullmans coach. Extremely hard work and when we finished
it, it didn't really fit in with out other rolling stock. This one ended up in France. |

The only RoR activity this month was the introduction
of 110v plugs to our signals. We also shortened the poles
to 500mm for a more proportional look (also easier to
post). On our own railway we installed several signals and new track circuiting. |

March As part of our standardizing of stock we sold our panel coach which was no.1 in the production series. This ended up with no. 2 of the series (Ex Salfords Light Railway) on a railway nr Bristol. The coach feels at home with other Ex Ride on Railways stock - well wagon and Y6. |

One of the finished coaches. This was one
of a pair which ended up in Cambridgeshire. The colour is
from the standars Dulux gloss range. If we supply the
coach in brown we use a deck stain which provide an
excellent finish in two coats. For solid colours we end up with primer/undercoat and 2 or 3 top coats. The reason for Dulux is that with some home brand paints the drying time is twice as long and you always end up with three top coats or sometimes even four. |

March saw the delivery of our prototype Jasper chassis. Rather than run with the battery exposed I built a temporary body from 1mm sheet steel. The dimensions for the body were set by the off cuts of metal I had in the workshop. |

To go with the new Jasper loco March also saw the introduction of the slot coupling. |

Once again we set up at the local school for the
Havers O Gauge exhibition. Unfortunately this excellent
event was not well attended and so is the last one. Although we new it wouldn't be busy, we always enjoy charging up the straight corridor at great speeds. Notable event "that guy looks like Pete Waterman" reply "thats because it is" |

Merstham Our first year here. Fantastic response. We took our portable track to demonstrate a 10' radius and let people have test drives. For 2007 we are teaming up with Barry from Compass House and hope to have a joint set up giving people the chance to test drive engines and rolling stock. |

The first of two open days on our railway. We had a few visitng locos including this Hercules from Plymouth. It was also nice to have a steam engine running on the track. |
JUNE |

Andrena (paint department) decided to have a go at different colours. Time consuming but the results are stunning. Unfortunately (for Drena) we like it so much we have another two coaches for her to paint. |

Canvey Island. The first of two visits to the club track. On this visit I took all our four wheel wagons. Only went round the track once as the shear weight of the train meant the front wagons lifted off every time you slowed down. |
![]() |
We also took our prototype raised riding truck. This featured new brackets that allow the side skirts to be adjusted in height and width. Good job too as we had to lift them up for this track. |

New Jasper body. June saw the arrival of the 1.5mm steel production body. |
![]() |
One of the draw backs of having bodies manufactured is the size they take up. |
JUNE |
|

A small garden railway in Essex. Rather than take large items to help run a birthday party service, I took Jasper and three 4 wheel wagons. |
JULY |
|
![]() |
The first batch of coal wagon riding trucks. Here is a mix of braked and un braked ones. |
AUGUST |
|
![]() |
This year we held our second open day in August. Once again we were blessed with visiting locomotives. This Maxitrak Ruston performed well and had a very interesting sound system. |
SEPTEMBER |

As a bit of a trial I had a play with producing a 3
aspect color signal. Took a long time and is not
commercially viable but does look the part. This one is
destined for our railway. We can provide a 2 aspect signal with metal pole, base plate and ladder. |
OCTOBER |
|

Another local railway exhibition. This time at my old
school - St Edwards. With such a long corridoor we had
nearly 50m of straight track. A good location saw us set up in the main entrance so we carried a lot of adults at this event. |

A return to Canvey Island. This tiem we weren't sheltering from the sun. Still it gave us another opportunity to have a good run. |
DECEMBER |
|
| Spent some of the month working on our new steam outline engine. I will post picture here once I have the design sorted. | |
