For the

Journey.

We'd love to welcome you to the Havering Miniature Railway. Here's everything you need to know to plan a great day out.

Location & Directions

We're easy to find in the heart of Lodge Farm Park

Lodge Farm Park is close to Romford town centre and can be reached easily by car, bus or train. The railway is based at Havering Halt, towards the southern end of the park.

By Car

Lodge Farm Park has two public car parks

Carlton Road — RM2 5AA

Located at the southern end of the park and the most convenient car park for Havering Halt.

Main Road — RM2 5JB

Located at the northern end of the park, opposite Raphael Park. From here, follow the paths south through Lodge Farm Park to reach the railway.

Both car parks are operated by the London Borough of Havering. Please check the signs in the car park for the latest parking restrictions or charges.

By Bus

Lodge Farm Park is served by several TfL bus routes.

The 174 and 498 both serve the Main Road/Raphael Park area, close to the northern entrance to Lodge Farm Park.

From the Main Road entrance, follow the park paths south towards Havering Halt.

Alternatively, many bus services terminate in Romford town centre, from where the railway can be reached on foot via the southern end of the park.

By Train

The nearest major railway station is Romford.

Romford is served by the Elizabeth line, providing direct connections from central London and stations towards Shenfield, as well as the Liberty line to Emerson Park and Upminster. Greater Anglia services also call at Romford.

From Romford station you can continue to Lodge Farm Park on foot or take a local bus towards the Main Road/Raphael Park entrance.

If walking, head north from Romford town centre towards Sims Close, which provides pedestrian access into the park close to the railway.

By Foot

Lodge Farm Park is within easy walking distance of Romford town centre.

From the town centre, head towards Western Road and Junction Road, then continue towards Sims Close. At the end of Sims Close, follow the pedestrian entrance into Lodge Farm Park.

Once inside the park, Havering Halt is just a short walk away at the southern end of the park.

Running Days

Trains run on selected days throughout the season

Our public running season runs from April until early October, with trains normally operating on the first and third Sunday of each month.

On running days, trains run from 11:00am until 4:00pm, with services departing regularly throughout the day.

As Havering Miniature Railway Club is run by volunteers, dates can occasionally change, so we recommend checking our latest running-day information before making a special journey.

Accessibility

Step-free access & our accessible carriage

Lodge Farm Park and the railway both have step-free access, and the park car parks include dedicated disabled bays for Blue Badge holders.

We also have an accessible passenger carriage with opening sides to make boarding easier. Due to the size of our miniature trains, we’re unfortunately unable to carry passengers while seated in a wheelchair.

If you’d like to discuss access requirements before your visit, please get in touch. We’ll always do our best to accommodate individual needs wherever we safely can.
