Visiting LOCOS

Can I bring a Locomotive to the Club?

Locomotives are welcome anytime with prior arrangements but with limited public running days and limited track capacity members have priority to use their locomotives on these days.

Visiting locomotive will require current valid certificates (for steam) and their own insurance. There is no flexibility on steam certificates but we can make arrangements if you do not have insurance.

All visiting drivers will need to take an assessment/familiarity run before driving unaccompanied. Public running can only be done with approval of the track marshal. Under 16 drivers can only carry members of a bona fide model engineering club as passengers

We currently have limited facilities. Off loading will be at one of the three level crossings. Water has to be taken to the line in 25ltr containers. Please bring coal if required. Limited secure space can be provided for short term storage.

There is a kettle in the engine shed but please remember to bring milk .

All visitors must sign in.

Trains can only run between 9am and 5pm
