Notes - Having seen Chingford's loco on test on their track, I was approached about building East Herts Club a bogie loco. Rather than simply another Captain Howey the suggestion was made to make a loco with the stylings of "Lady of the Lake" which is a loco at the Ruislip Lido Railway. I approached the Lido Railway but found the chairman unhelpful and quite against the idea. Unable to gain official access to the orginal loco I draw up a proposal drawing from information on the internet.

Incidently the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway - the builders of the loco were quite enthusiastic about the idea but explained that the only working drawings were ones done in chalk on the workshop floor.

Notes - Orginal concept for 16 lever lever frame with mechanical and electronic interlocking for use in a training school. Design was drawn up from a site visit and main clients specification. Worked as part of a team with the main client and other subcontractors to achieve the final result. Althougth the mechanical interlocking is different from the original prototype, our frame is designed to behave and feel like the real thing. Large interlocking slides give a clear visual display of how mechanical interlocking works.

7 1/4" Gauge Package

Client - W5 - Belfast

Brief - 7 1/4" gauge complete railway package to be set up and used in a Christmas grotto. We were able to work with the client to develop and expand the basic ideas he had for a battery steam outline engine and sit astride coaches. W5 is a hands on interactive centre in the Titanic quarter of Belfast Docks.

Notes - Orginal design brief developed from drawings and via conversations and correspondane. Track layout included two points and electronic control of one set of points to create a longer journey around the christmas villiage. Lightweight aluminium and plastic sleepers system was chosen due to the low noise and handling issues.

Notes - I volunteered (or press ganged) in to heading up a team to provide a new locomotive for the club. It was decided the club wanted a ride in locomotive with plenty of power to handle public running duty. Locomotive was to be based on RoR power bogies but eventual design was open to the groups choice.
