3mm steel frame with 1mm steel roof. 6mm
MDF panels and 1mm steel window frames. The corners aof
the MDF panels will need to be nibbled away where the
welding lumps obstruct it. This happens on the top of the
side panels and sides of the end panels.
|
| Glue the MDF panels to the steel frame
using a "No Nails" adhesive. The best adhesive
are the solvent based ones such as "Gripfill"
but these are hard to remove any overspill. Using small
clamps squeeze any excess out and from under the frame.

 |
Once all the excess glue has been removed
clamp the frame down using battens to spred the pressure.
As a safeguard and to help
the glue small bolts can be used to hold the panels. 2mm bolts with the
head on the outside of the fame will stop the glue from failing.
|
| The 1mm steel window suround and boiler
doors are simply glued on |

SIDE SKIRTS
Turn the chassis upside down and place the side
skirts so they are flush with the buffer beams. The welding on
the underside of the deck may clash with the ends of the skirts.
Simply cut a nick out using a hacksaw or tin snips so the skirt will go around
the weld.
Mark the holes in the skirt using a pencil and
then drill out three 4mm holes on each side. Use 4 mm bolts to
hold the skirts on.
The side skirts are then simply bolted on |
