Notes
The design of these bogies comes from approaching a commercial
motor/tranmission company and asking for a drive solution which would
be robust and maintenance free. The solution of axle mounting a motor
gearbox assembly direct on to the wheel set provides direct power with
virtually no tranmission noise,.
I
don't do chains. They stretch and need constant oiling. Toothed modern
rubber belts do not stretch and will out last many chain sets while
needing no lubrication. Belts are almost silent in operation.
